Shattered: Typesetting Complete

Today, we have completed the typesetting of the Shattered manuscript. Now, with the cover and manuscript complete, we are virtually ready to go to print. At the present time, our Graphics Design team is compiling all of the files into their print-ready format, set to go to our printers. The only task remaining is to receive the author’s approval that everything is as she would like, at which point we can then hit the ‘Publication, Global Distribution, and Success’ button!

It is as the publication process is nearing the end that the feeling of excitement for what we achieve—with every single book—becomes stronger than ever. Our role in facilitating writers’ dreams of publishing their work and making it available across the world, in the form of books, is something we treasure and of which we are so proud to be a part!

June 6, 2014—publication day!—will be a wonderful time, not only for Sallie Baisley, Shattered‘s author, but for the Notebook Publishing team as a whole!

Shattered: Book Cover

Book Cover V2

Progress on Sallie Baisley’s Shattered has been fast and seamless, with the finalisation of the book cover design now complete. Both the author and the Notebook Publishing team feel the book cover is a perfect representation of the story to be contained within, and we are very much looking forward to printing the first proof copy. Publication is imminent. Now to finalise typesetting…

Shattered: Blurb

The past few business days have been centred on the manuscript penned by Sallie Baisley, Shattered, with the typesetting and cover design finalisation assigned the most priority at the present stage of the publishing process. This particular book is speeding through the various stages of publication owing to a number of factors, namely the author’s writing talent and her efficiency at having the manuscript copy edited prior to submission to Notebook. As such, we are mere days away from introducing Ms Baisley’s words, in print, worldwide.

The most recent development has been the editing of Shattered‘s blurb, which we include here as a glimmer of insight into the soon-to-be-published mystery fiction:

The ingredients for a bomb are quite specific, but what about for the bomb-maker? What is it that makes him tick?

Take a disillusioned young man, add a pinch of vulnerability and a dash of poverty, and mix in a broken heart. Crack open a charismatic ‘devil’ and bake for 18 years, before finally sprinkling on top a series of traumatic events. The end result is truly shattering!

Shattered tells the story of Ryan Arnold—a white British boy living in Chatham, Kent. Defenceless and disenchanted, his hopes and dreams destroyed time and again, Ryan turns to the only people who have ever shown him love, compassion and respect. They are the Khan family, who inadvertently introduce him to the dark world of terrorism—and Al-Qaida…

Introducing Sallie Baisley with Shattered

Notebook Publishing is proud to introduce author Sallie Baisley as our newest author, who has chosen to publish her novel, Shattered, a mystery, through NP’s Basic Plus publishing option with add-on manuscript typesetting.

Ms Baisley, who is based in Kent, UK, has spent a great deal of her time writing her manuscript and having it copy edited. We are now thrilled to have been selected as her publisher.

As Sallie has selected the Basic Plus package, her book will be available in both paperback and e-book format, complete with ISBN assignment and barcode generation. After typesetting, the manuscript will be digitally formatted and distributed, with a hard-copy proof sent to the author for her approval. Upon receiving Sallie’s go-ahead for publication, Notebook Publishing will then work alongside Ingram Distribution to make the book available for worldwide printing, with countless distributors, wholesalers and retailers receiving details of the book and the option to purchase and sell it through their own channels.

At the present time, the Shattered manuscript is undergoing typesetting. Simultaneously, the book cover design is being perfected and finalised, with Ms Baisley working in collaboration with Notebook’s Graphics Design team. Furthermore, the blurb has been edited, and will shortly be made available to Notebook Publishing’s customer base.

At Notebook Publishing, we are so very proud to be working on Shattered. We’re confident Sallie will be very successful, and that we’ll be seeing many more of her works in the future!

Basic Plus Package

Yesterday we began the publication process for our newest author (a subsequent blog entry will soon be live, detailing the author and the book!), who has opted for the Basic Plus package with add-on typesetting. This means that the next few business days will be focused on typesetting, as well as the finalisation of the book cover design, carried out by our dedicated Graphics Design team, before progressing on through to publication. We expect the book to be available for print/purchase within the next 1-2 weeks. Yet more excitement—not only for our client but also for Notebook Publishing!

Our next blog entry will detail the author, book title and genre, as well as author picture, with a sneak-peak into the cover coming very soon!

Snarls of Love: Blurb

The past couple of weeks have marked an exciting journey for Notebook Publishing, with the proofreading, copy editing and typesetting of Snarls of Love well under way and the design of the book’s cover complete (blog entry including the cover to follow very soon!). Now, with only days to go until publication, the blurb (originally penned by author Sandra Carvalho and subsequently copy edited by the Notebook Publishing team) has been polished and finalised. We thought we’d include the blurb on our blog to give our followers a better sneak-peak into the book before the publication date arrives!

A professional hitman, going by the name of Judas, is hired by an elite but shady corporation. Stumbling through his assignment, he falls for the beautiful and telepathic detective whose mission is clear: Sara has begun her next hunt.

Time seems to stand still for the hunters as they fall in love, but then it quickly races against them, catching up with them, as their love tangles, their every move making them the prey, the hunted.

The unknown awaits…

Anticipation is building and we are climbing the walls! There’s less than a week to go!

Introducing Sandra Carvalho with Snarls of Love

Notebook Publishing is proud to introduce author Sandra Carvalho as our newest writer, who has chosen to publish her novella, Snarls of Love, through NP’s Basic publishing option with add-on manuscript copy editing.

Ms Carvalho, who is based in Trinidad and Tobago, has spent 2014 penning a number of works, with Snarls of Love the first to reach the copy editing and publication stage. We are thrilled to have been chosen to work with her on her journey as an author.

Notably, as Sandra has chosen the Basic package, her book will be available in both paperback and e-book format, complete with ISBN assignment and barcode generation. After intense copy editing, the manuscript will be digitally formatted and distributed, with an electronic proof sent to the author for her approval. Upon receiving Sandra’s go-ahead for publication, Notebook Publishing will then work alongside Ingram Distribution to make the book available for worldwide printing, with countless distributors, wholesalers and retailers receiving details of the book and the option to purchase and sell it through their own channels.

The copy editing of the manuscript, which is the first stage of the process, is currently underway. This will ensure the book is error-free and consistent, with any and all loose ends tied up prior to going to print. In addition, the manuscript will be typeset, ensuring a professional and aesthetic layout.

At Notebook Publishing, we are so very proud to be working on Snarls of Love, and we wish Ms Carvalho every bit of success.
